The Possibilities Are Endless
When certain designs cannot be achieved using only buttercream, we add an additional layer of rolled fondant over top of our Swiss Meringue Buttercream. This way once the Bride and Groom cut into their cake for pictures, the caterer can remove the outer layer of fondant leaving only the delicious Buttercream for the guests enjoyment.
Essentially, fondant is only used purely for aesthetic purposes. This is how we create beautiful styles that mimic fabric; such as swags, ruffles, bows, and rouching. We are also able to add other fun techniques such as hand-painted designs, stenciled designs, sculpted coral reefs, scales, ornate molded details, and we can even add Swarovski crystals since the fondant will be removed.
